1 John 4:20-21
“If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
ARE YOU A HYPOCRITE AND A LIAR?
Over and over again John encourages us to LOVE ONE ANOTHER. In this passage, he simply and bluntly says that anyone who claims to love God but does not love the people around him is a hypocrite and a liar. In the same way that God initiates a loving relationship with us, we should be willing to take the first step with people in our lives as well. As we get close to the end of this letter from John, pray and ask God to show you who you need to reach out to in love.
